Summer Wellbeing in the glorious weather

25 Jul 2018

The sun really did shine on our Summer Wellbeing Festival this year, held on a glorious Saturday 30th June.

Despite the heat and the World Cup matches we attracted hundreds of people all afternoon to spend time topping up their wellbeing. There were over 50 stalls, ranging from information and advice to craft jewellry and soap, live music from the Whittington Steel Band, The Jukes, Elvis and a Latin American band. Visitors were able to sustain themselves with a range of traditional German Sausage and Burgers, Caribbean Chicken and Vegetable Dhosas, alongside our very own Afternoon Tea Tent, conveniently situated in the cool shade of our garden.

People were also able to take part in taster sessions of Tai Chi and yoga and have massages. For the kids there were opportunities to make juggling balls and other craft activities as well as a Bouncy Castle, storytelling from Islington Library and a mini Fun Fair. A new attraction for this year was the mini Crazy Golf which snaked along the road. Arsenal in the Community kindly provided the Penalty Shoot Out and the Mascot came along to lend his fun.

There were also family attractions in the Royal Northern Gardens next door.

Our thanks to local businesses for supporting our tombola and to Drivers and Norris for supporting the brochure.
