Wellbeing event on Dementia

20 Jul 2017

On Friday 7th July Mental Health Champion Dr Neeru Aggarwal ran a session at Duval House, a sheltered housing project run by Centra. It is the second session that has been run here by a mental health champion and this one was on the topic of Dementia.

In this session we spoke about what the different types of dementia are, how to recognise it, what to do about it, and how to prevent it.

It was an interactive session and the residents found it incredibly engaging. Dr Neeru enjoyed it a lot too and has organised to run another session at the end of the summer on the topic of Bipolar.

The staff are delighted about the sessions as they want to break down the stigma of talking about mental health and build a culture where residents and supporting each other with their mental wellbeing. We are planning sessions at other nearby Centra Projects so that we can reach a wider audience.
