Manor Gardens Welfare Trust is a charity with an excellent history of supporting people and communities to improve their health and wellbeing. We operate across London with our main base in Islington.
Hornsey Road Children’s Centre provides early year’s education and childcare to a total of 48 children daily, Monday – Friday, within extended hours, 8am – 6pm. We work with the London Borough of Islington as part of the local Bright Start offer to ensure we provide all our children with the best start in life, and promote the importance of early year’s education, healthcare and family support. Our partnership with all parents, families and professionals is greatly valued in achieving this aim.
You would be joining an experienced team and gaining committed and supportive colleagues. You have the potential to gain experience of working collaboratively with the Leadership team and Kitchen assistant to plan and prepare varied and nutritional meals for children attending the Nursery, completing tasks to ensure excellent food hygiene and health and safety at all times, and introducing children to a healthy and culturally varied diet at an early age. It is essential that you have excellent planning and budgeting skills, an awareness of nutritional needs, and the ability the prep from scratch and cook meals to a daily schedule.
Commitment to working collaboratively, ordering food for all meals in timely manner, insuring awareness of allergies and cross-contamination, and maintaining an hygienic and safe kitchen are also part of this role.
