Deputy Nursery Manager

Hours: 36 hours per week (Term Time only)

Salary: £27,024 - £28,059 (Grade 4, SCP 13-17)

Manor Gardens Nursery is appointing a Deputy Nursery Manager to join our experienced and committed team of practitioners and as a key member of our Early Years team across the Organisation.

Our Nursery provides early year’s education and childcare Monday – Friday (Term Time only), and provides children with the best start in life, promoting the importance of early year’s education. Our relationship with all parents and families is greatly valued in achieving this aim. We require a deputy manager that can share our vision.

Together with our Leadership Team, you will plan and implement creative learning activities, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring safety and well-being of children at all times. This job will involve deputising for the Nursery Manager and Designated Safeguarding Lead.  Your sound knowledge and understanding of the educational, developmental health and social needs of children under five and of the requirements and guidance relating to the EYFS statutory framework, will demonstrate your comprehensive understanding of child development, child protection and Special Educational Needs.

You will be the settings SENCO and will lead on the Nurseries Special Educational Needs duties and liaise directly with the Area SENCO and the Local Authority, and be an allocated key person to a number of children including those with special education needs.  You will work closely with parents to make sure children settle well and make progress at expected levels.

You will need an excellent understanding and approach to early help and safeguarding, and a commitment to partnership working. You will need a minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent, and a strong level of IT confidence and capability to meet the requirements of the role. Previous SENCO training will be an added advantage.

We deliver Early Years education in two nursery settings, Manor Gardens Nursery and Hornsey Road Children’s Centre; both our settings are rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.
