Manor Gardens' Wellbeing Service took time to reduce the stigma around mental health by taking part in the national Time to Talk Day on 2nd February 2017.
Our Mental Health Champions joined us to cover a lot of local ground. The team based themselves at the Nag's Head Shopping Centre and talked to over 300 passers-by about how they were feeling. They handed out literature and signposted people to places they could get help.
MP Jeremy Corbyn and Councillor Janet Burgess turned up to lend a hand.
Other Champions started conversations in local cafes and there was a team on hand at Manor Gardens to talk to the hundreds of people who pass through our centre each week. We provide tea, cake and restful activities to help people take time for themselves and to talk.
If you think you would like to become one of our Mental Health Champions please read more here and email us at wellbeing@manorgardenscentre.org.
