A welcome boost from the CWU

19 Jun 2020

We were thrilled to get a message on Tuesday offering us a large donation of food towards our Food Distribution Hub from the Communications Workers Union (CWU). They had been collecting donations from hundreds of Royal Mail staff in North London and brought them to the centre in time for this week's deliveries.

The donation of food was co-ordinated by John and Katrina, who is the niece of our own Centre Manager Norma.

Over the last eight weeks we have suported 1,340 people with 1,243 emergency food parcels in 481 households in Islington. The need for additional food supplies is not diminshing. We are seeing demand increase despite the easing of lockdown measures and expect to be providing food parcels for the foreseeable future.

You can support our work by giving us a donation so that we can buy more food or provide welfare support for isolated people.
