Just before lockdown we received a call from Ofsted announcing their visit the next day, on 5th March. All nursery staff worked hard to get everything prepared for the inspection and were available to meet the inspector on the day.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ofsted has only just published our report, which you can read here.
We are pleased and proud of the report we have received. The overall rating is ‘good’, with ‘outstanding’ in the areas of ‘personal development’ and ‘behaviour and attitudes’. The inspector highlighted that children are extremely happy, safe and secure; all of which are absolute priorities for us in ensuring that children in our care and throughout Islington have the best start in life. The Inspector praised our Nursery Manager, Shade Arowolo, and the staff: ‘The nursery is led by an extremely experienced and dedicated manager, and with staff planning an ambitious, interesting and creative curriculum’. We are very grateful to them for all their hard work.
Our parents also reported being very happy with the care and education their children receive, and feel well informed.
In our 2016 inspection we were rated as ‘outstanding’ in all areas. Since this time, the Ofsted inspection has changed significantly with a new inspection framework introduced in September 2019. The attainment of outstanding is now based on different criteria. We are confident that our rating is not based on a reduction in quality within our setting but a review of expectations and improvements for all early years’ settings. We remain committed to listening to feedback and improving in the quality of all areas aligned to the standards set by Ofsted.
Chief Executive Katy Porter said: ‘We would like to praise our staff for all their hard work and thank our parents for their support, and for continuing to work with us to provide opportunities and a rich experience for their children and others.’
We are currently open for applications for September for two- to four-year-olds. You can apply online using this form.
