Pride at Manor Gardens

2 Jul 2021

Celebrating Pride Month Manor Gardens hosted a Pride celebration in our gardens on a rather chilly afternoon at the end of June.

People from all walks of life, clients and volunteers were invited to Afternoon Tea on the lawn, with the chance to make new friends and chat.

'I'm really happy so many people turned up,' says Laura, our new Communities Manager. 'It was very relaxed and we had great conversations with lots of people to celebrate Pride month.'

Pride month was also marked by the installation of plaques along the Islington Pride Trail. Our own Dame Geraldine Hall played host to the first officially registered gay youth group in Britain, and the group played an instrumental role in the lives of young gay and lesbian people from the mid-1970s to the early 2000s.

Dame Geraldine Hall today!
